PH Digital, a leading Auckland-based digital marketing agency, engaged Studio 11:11 to transform a raw industrial warehouse into a dynamic new headquarters. The aim was to create a home base that would inspire their team, elevate client experience, and reflect the sophistication of their brand. The brief called for a space that felt energised, contemporary, and human, marking a cultural shift away from the traditional corporate environment and into something more aligned with their vibrant, fast-moving team. The design strategy centred on contrast: preserving the warehouse’s expansive, light-filled architecture while introducing warmth, intimacy, and tactility. A low-lit, cocoon-like entry sets the tone with a sculptural basalt wall and custom metal signage. This compressed arrival moment gives way to a bright, open-plan workspace supported by tonal meeting rooms, a hospitality-inspired kitchen/bar, private pods and cosy break out spaces, creating balance between openness and focus. Material choices were critical in softening the industrial bones of the building. Galvanised steel, ribbed glass and textured render are offset with raw wool wall hangings and table runners that double as acoustic treatments. A playful composition of solid and void and rhythmic forms create an interior with striking presence and intrigue. Custom metal cabinetry elevates the fit out but feels at ease in the industrial shell. Another standout feature is the James Turrell-inspired skylight, achieved through close, agile collaboration with CASA Construct to resolve complex detailing under tight time constraints. Since moving in, staff who once preferred working from home now actively return to the office. The space has improved wellbeing, fostered stronger team culture, and become a source of pride. It has also elevated PH Digital’s client experience, offering an environment that reflects their creative edge and commercial professionalism. Online, the new headquarters serves as a powerful brand touchpoint, aligning the visual language of their environment with the quality of service they deliver. The result is a workplace that not only functions beautifully but transforms how people feel, connect, and work within it.
