Judge's comments:

We loved this project. It showed a true sense of personality and confidence by the designer and felt like an immersive space where precious things were created. The design is bold and confident, distinguishing itself as a space that will be memorable and experiential for those within. The imagery was strong and really evoked a sense of what it would be like to be within these rooms - a strong support for the concept that the designer has put forward.

Description:

31 Jewellers has been designed to foster community, spark meaningful connections, and nurture new passions.
It offers space for seasoned jewellers to pass on knowledge, connect with the public, and inspire creative confidence.
As a gathering point, the studio becomes a container for shared experiences, inviting visitors to leave with both personal stories and crafted objects to cherish.

Drawing on inspiration from the local metropolis and a reimagined appreciation for humble materials.
The material palette draws inspiration from the surrounding urban development on Cross Street.
Typically industrial materials have been repurposed for their visual and tactile qualities, creating a playful and inviting environment that reconsiders what luxury means when thoughtfully treated.
The design invites us to rethink beauty, materiality, and how design fosters deeper connection with the world around us.
Spanning three levels, the store offers a unique experience that encourages connection through workshops and events.

31 Jewellers invites the community to explore the possibilities of creation through play and boundary pushing.
Through the craft of jewellery making, personal expression is given material form. The site serves as a hub for residents and visitors alike to learn, refine, and practice their skills in an exciting and welcoming space.
