Description:

This four-bedroom home gives little away from the street. Partially influenced by the client's passion for mid-century architecture, the house unfolds over three low-slung forms that stretch down the long, narrow site and expand in volume as you travel through. Roof windows, floor-to-ceiling glazing and multiple outdoor openings guide natural light into the home and emphasise its connection to the low-maintenance landscaped surroundings.

Formed with undemanding, honest materials, its brick façade is complemented by cedar and macrocarpa accents with wide tray metal roofing. The interiors pick up on the craft and tone of the exterior materials, honing in on warmth and tactility, harnessing light and red oak architectural detailing and roof beams that circle back to that admired 'Christchurch Style'.
