Description:

Nestled in the heart of Martinborough, Aotearoa, Ata Rangi is a family-owned business that has been producing award-winning wines since 1980. Known for their dedication to sustainability and biodynamic farming practice, Ata Rangi's new Tasting Room was designed to embody their brand experience of integrity, quality, and a sense of custodianship.

Modern and simplistic in form, the Tasting Room draws inspiration from the surrounding elemental and humble vernacular. The design takes cues from local agricultural and small industrial buildings, featuring Zincalume cladding, and gable roof structures with veranda shelter over decks supported by colonnaded posts. The surrounding environment, including the vines, significant tree trunks, and canopies, informed the rhythmic proportions and detailing of the space, creating a sense of belonging and familiarity.

Functionally, the Tasting Room accommodates up to 20 visitors per sitting and up to 50 people for special events, featuring a concealed prep-kitchen, bathrooms and on-site wine storage to support sales.
