Description:

The DUAL workplace fitout offered an exciting opportunity to translate a bold new brand identity into a rich, immersive spatial experience. One led by colour and grounded in materiality. As DUAL emerged from a rebrand, this office became the first physical embodiment of their new identity. It had to reflect confidence, connection and adaptability. Not through overt theming, but through subtle, transformative design moves.

Rather than layering colour onto surfaces, the design team used it as a primary tool for storytelling, mood-setting, and spatial navigation. The approach centred on embedding colour through texture, tone and natural material creating an emotional and atmospheric journey across the workplace.

Deep greens and earthy tones anchor the social and events hub, while rich timber, brass detailing, and warm neutral surfaces transition through quieter zones creating a deliberate rhythm of energy and calm. Materials such as Jardin Emerald stone, Zellige Bosco green tiles, Porter’s Fresco Pavimento paint, and Ripple Flex Oak panels deliver tactile and tonal richness without overwhelming the senses.

Key spatial moves including a central activation spine and a multipurpose kitchen/events zone are amplified by this curated palette. The spine moves users from moody arrival to vibrant centre, offering moments of interaction, reflection, and storytelling through each transition.

Colour is also used to support wellbeing. Natural light is balanced by tonal contrasts, while biophilic elements like a custom moss wall reinforce brand and offer a sense of calm. A glazing manifestation in DUAL’s vibrant brand hue adds a subtle burst of energy while supporting privacy and identity.

Sustainability was also woven into the colour story. Products like Autex Cube and Grid acoustic tiles (chosen for their low-carbon credentials) offered deep, tonal acoustic solutions. The palette wasn’t just beautiful it was conscious, crafted and built to last.

The outcome is a workplace that does more than meet functional needs. It communicates. It connects. It adapts. Staff feel more grounded, more energised, and more connected to the brand they represent. The use of colour, nuanced, immersive, and emotionally intelligent transforms this workplace into an everyday expression of DUAL’s future-facing culture.
