With a brief of no white, we were pushed to use colour in new ways ensuring we created unexpected spaces. Playing on the idea of setting rhythm, visual tempo and tension between harmony and arrangement we created the unexpected in a refined cacophony of colour feels restful and retreatlike.

The colour palette reflects Naumi’s Essense – colourful, wild with a refined edge. Bold colour blocking in the rooms takes inspiration from nature: lilac, avocado, rust, subtle turmeric, the colours of a Wellington sunset tastefully clashing with contemporary diagonally striped carpet in bold colours. Contrast created by using a black trim around the perimeter of the rooms ceilings, adding a graphic architectural detail, nodding to the heritage Hotel side.

Embodying the eccentric luxe of Naumi, atmosphere is created by ephemeral lighting - brass droplet pendants from Swedish brand Ovature. Stripe carpet, a deep colour palette, geometric furniture and Iridescent screens that enclose the kitchenette & wardrobes, with a rainbowlike play of color – linking the colours over the 4 room types. Drapery & sheers line the walls to give an overall softness to the space. Graphic black & white striped wallpaper line the walls of the corridors with iridescent featured room signage.
