Quinn Bar is an intimate cocktail oasis nestled in the heart of Auckland City, carefully crafted to provide a sensory journey that evolves with each visit. With years of experience in the hospitality industry, our client has a proven track record of creating beloved bars and restaurants across Auckland. Despite working with a more compact space than usual, our client’s vision was clear: to design a refined environment that doesn’t feel confined. Every detail was meticulously planned to ensure the venue retains its sense of openness while still offering an elevated level of hospitality.

Quinn Bar is situated in one of Auckland's most iconic heritage locations, 131 Queen Street. Given the compact nature of the space, careful consideration was given to balancing the service and back-of-house areas with the customer-facing zones. A streamlined food offering allowed for a more compact back-of-house, which in turn provided greater flexibility in optimising the layout. To maximise seating, feature booth seating anchors the room, creating a relaxed, lounge-like atmosphere. This design choice not only enhances the sense of intimacy but also ensures a welcoming environment where guests can unwind and enjoy the space to its fullest.

A vibrant blue colour palette was chosen as the hero for this project, selected for its ability to evoke tranquillity while making a bold visual statement. The deep blues set the tone for the space, creating an inviting and calming atmosphere. Complementing the blues, custom, polished stainless steel wall linings were introduced, adding a reflective quality and creating an illusion of spaciousness. Together, these materials work in harmony to create depth and intrigue, drawing guests into a dynamic yet welcoming environment. The design strikes a perfect balance between elegance and comfort, inviting patrons to linger and enjoy the evolving sensory experience.

The carefully coordinated RGB lighting enhances the atmosphere by gradually transitioning the space from cool blue tones to warmer hues as the evening unfolds. This subtle shift is not only visual but also symbolic, reflecting the changing energy of Quinn Bar as day turns to night—or night evolves into the early hours. The result is a dynamic, ever-changing ambience that invites guests to experience the space in fresh and exciting ways with each visit.
