Roots is an initiative that mobilises students to green the redzone of Ōtautahi Christchurch. By harnessing the trending interest students have with pot plants, Roots offers students a free resource to grow, care for, and plant their very own piece of the redzone. Participants will develop personal connections to the land while restoring a belt of native bush to its pre-colonial glory. Ōtautahi Christchurch can become a place where every young person can lay down their roots.
