Description:

HealUp is a portable, all-in-one recovery kit designed to support sprained ankle rehabilitation for users recovering at home. It rethinks the at-home physiotherapy experience by providing essential recovery equipment, guided exercise support and sustainable design in a single, accessible product.

Sprained ankles are among the most common sports-related injuries, particularly among 18 to 25-year-olds. Exercise therapy is essential in ensuring users safely return to activities. While programs and exercise techniques are provided, many users often feel overwhelmed and confused while managing their rehabilitation at home alone. This can lead to inconsistent or incorrect movement executions, delaying healing progress and increasing the risk of re-injury in the future. HealUp addresses these issues by making exercise rehabilitation more structured, supportive, and user-friendly outside the clinic.

Purchasing individual tools can be costly, especially when they're only needed for a short period during recovery. HealUp offers a cohesive solution: A compact kit with a foam roller, an exercise mat with guided foot and equipment placement, a sturdy step block, a latex-free resistance band, and a companion app tailored to ankle rehabilitation. All components are neatly organised and fit together, forming a portable unit.

The resistance band features a detachable clip, allowing it to secure together around the kit body for adequate transportation. When the clip is removed, the functionality of the resistance bands remains, ensuring users can use the band as intended for their exercises. When not used for standing calf raises, the foam step block features an indentation slot for a phone, so users can follow tutorial videos before attempting exercise while sitting on the mat. The app features a visual colour timer to help users pace their repetitions, supporting focus on proper form and technique. After use, all components are packed away easily, making it simple to stay consistent.

Together, these features support users in building a reliable routine, boosting motivation, and removing the common barriers that make at-home rehabilitation difficult to maintain.

Sustainability is embedded in the product's design. The components are made from eco-conscious materials: EPP foam for the roller, recycled EVA for the base, and TPE for the mat and resistance band. These choices offer durability, comfort, and recyclability while keeping the product lightweight. The kit supports a circular rental system in which one patient uses it and returns it, and once cleaned, it can be reused by the next patient. The reuse system encourages shared responsibility and reduces waste in the physiotherapy space.

The kit and app combined bring clinical care to users' homes, reducing barriers often faced in recovery. Making the exercises feel more achievable and integrated into daily life. HealUp empowers users to take charge of their healing with greater ease and motivation by addressing rehabilitation's emotional, physical, and mental challenges.

The result is a product that supports physical recovery and the user's confidence, independence, and better long-term return to health. Offering a scalable, impactful solution for clinics and users alike, fostering better outcomes, more sustainable practices, and a more human-centred approach to injury recovery.
