Building 55 also known as “The Penman House” is currently the temporary building of use for both Contemporary Arts and Design students.
This project was designed as part of a 12-week brief to remind the students that coming into this building to only learn and produce work is not the only thing they can do here. They can also enjoy their time and interact with others to build relationships among other fellow students within this degree.
Throughout my research in this building, I noticed that the number of students that only come into this building were only here for their lectures and to receive feedback for their projects.
As well as my products originally being a wayfinding signage for this building, the students can also pull these down to play among themselves and interact by playing a re-designed cornhole game, buzz-wire, or shoot paper balls into a hoop, or even taking their time for a toilet break by solving crosswords or reading a paper.
