Sea Sippers eliminates plastic production entirely by introducing drinking pods that dissolve in water. Unlike traditional plastic bottles, which release harmful chemicals into the environment and can take centuries to decompose, Sea Sippers pose minimal harm to marine life, leaving behind no harmful microplastics that accumulate in the food chain and ecosystem.

Sea Sippers primarily aims to cater to the general public through commercial distribution in supermarkets and convenience stores. Providing users with the convenience of on-the-go portability enables the utilisation of pods in conjunction with water bottles or glasses of water commonly available in office, university, or cafe settings. More so, Sea Sippers possess considerable potential for implementation within restaurants, cafes, and food courts.

Embracing a circular economy, Sea Sippers are 100% zero waste at the end of their life cycle, presenting no threat to the environment. The pod's exterior consists of three key components: Seaweed (sodium alginate), recycled paper, and bio PVA. The edible seaweed’s primary active component is alginate, a polysaccharide composed of 2 uric acids - mannuronic and guluronic. These chemicals help the alginate gel together and are found in the alginate's cell wall and intercellular spaces, proving entirely safe for human consumption.

Liquid cordial is frozen and moulded into various amusing shapes, such as lemon wedges, strawberries, or apple slices. The frozen cordial is then dipped into the sodium alginate solution to create a clear film that contains the liquid. Sea Sippers are wrapped between two thin dissolvable layers of bio PVA to ensure pods remain intact during transportation.
Sea Sipper’s packaging utilises compostable sachets to safeguard pods from humidity or air.

With both packaging and product being made of entirely biodegradable or compostable materials, Sea Sippers will leave no trace once it reaches the end of its lifecycle.
