Ribb, provides a significant contribution to the management of Cold-Chain refrigerators within hospital wards, GP practice clinics and community pharmacies. Our innovative design has been trialled within a hospital environment and been demonstrably validated with regards to its design objectives: reducing cold-bridging events, maintaining spacing, improving effectiveness, usability, and navigation location of Temperature Sensitive Pharmaceuticals (TSP's), supporting air circulation, and reducing workload on pressured clinical staff. Ribb helps alleviate mundane aspects of refrigerator management for clinical staff who have the responsibility for adherence to Cold-Chain standards. This has not been without anxiety or concern for the staff whose primary objective is the delivery of quality health care and have been distracted by refrigerator management obligations. Ribb attends to these concerns, providing easier location of TSP’s, easy visual checking and the ability to be used as perimeter bumpers of shelf dividers. Ribb improves quality compliance with Cold-Chain standards, enhancing drug efficacy for patients and those being vaccinated. By improving Cold-Chain refrigeration performance it reduces the wastage of expensive medications, vaccines and TSP’s, improving democratisation of access, particularly in times of pandemics scarcity of newly developed vaccines. The impact of Ribb will be seen over time, through reductions in Cold-Chain breaches, national savings on TSP’s and vaccines, improved efficacy rates and improved job satisfaction of pharmacy staff. Our testing and trialling to date, in hospital, supports validation of the Ribb product as a sustainable and affordable contribution to enhanced Cold-Chain compliance and affordable healthcare.
