Description:

Izon Exoid

The Exoid is the next generation of TRPS device. It takes the fundamentals of the Izons qNano technology and makes the user experience taking TRPS measurement easier than ever before. Used in over 45 countries, TRPS instruments are a key requirement for analysing nanoparticles scientifically and correctly.
This is very apt with it develop happening during covid lockdown and its technology used for diagnosing viruses.
The Exoid, allows the user to measure size, concentration, and charge/zeta potential on a particle-by-particle basis. This is a crucial step forward when working with naturally heterogeneous biological samples making Izon world leading with the Exoid.
Exoid newly developed automatic pressure system allows complex measurements to be made quickly and more accurately. With high repeatability it allowed Izon to develop a patented 3D plot system for particle concentration, diameter and Zeta Potential.
Making a statement of the significance of this technology, clients brief required a futuristic look while still portraying science equipment carrying on from the previous successful AFC product which was achieved with its strong identity of shape. The clever use of materials was key as the product needed to have weight for stability and reduction of vibration. The main aluminium housing achieved this while also helping to create an RF cage to prevent interference into the sensitive electronics.
The challenge for Exoid was to take the qNano TRPS technology and automate the nanopore stretching system so it could be digitally controlled enabling repeatable accurate testing as well as encompassing pressure and vacuum pumps in a device that makes a statement about the futuristic analysis that it preforms.
The unit also had to incorporate the extremely-sensitive VCA technology in its own housing that can measure the particles and send the data through to the custom software package.
Externally three simplified buttons were incorporated for the user interface for manual functions during initial setup before automated with the software.
Continuing with the very successful use of colour in Izon’s AFC product an Illuminated halo ring is utilised giving clear indication of status and functions via a range of colour and pulses. The halo ring mimics the silhouette of the product amplifying the futuristic science feel. This allows it to be monitored easily in the lab giving a strong sophisticated presence.
Simplified yet technical software interface visually links to the unit via PC was developed to control Exoid and give real time results and analysis. Cues from the Exoids design DNA were used as visual reference during the development of the user interface in the software.
Packaging, part of the brief, developed using paper-based product to be totally recyclable. A challenge with the weight of the product so clever card construction was used to securely support the Exoid during shipping.
Development of the Exoid has enabled a revolution in accurate measurements of nanoparticle properties and with the backing of major clinic’s it is expected to be rapidly embraced by medical researchers all around the world. That in turn will lead to much better medical diagnostics for society.
