Napier is a remarkable luminaire that plays with light through materiality. Exploring the properties of transparency and internal refraction, the pristine crystal volume of Napier is a celebration of the invisible. When turned off, Napier appears as nothing more than a simple black line, but once illuminated the light catches the chamfered edges of its geometric volume and radiates a spectacular a jewel like glow. As if tracing the geometric volume in space with light.

Reminiscent of the soaring architectural structures that inspired the collection, Napier is made from metal and glass. Crystal glass is cast, cut and polished by hand, slowly shaped into a near perfect geometric volume. The nature of the hand-crafted process results in beautifully subtle irregularities in the surface of the geometric form, gently bending the light in unexpected ways.
By contrast, the structural elements of Napier are produced from extruded, and CNC machined aluminium, finished in anodised matt black. Napier brings these seemingly disparate worlds together in a single, minimal composition. The precision manufactured aluminium LED housing delicately clamps the crystal column in position, giving the appearance of two simple forms floating side by side. The first, a slender black cylinder, and the other, a transparent rectangular prism.

The Napier pendants also feature a 2 way pivot, enabling the pendants to be positioned in any orientation. Used singularly or in multiples, aligned horizontally over counters, Napier pendants create architecturally minimalist lighting solutions. For more artful installations, multiple crystal columns of varying lengths can be pivoted to contrasting angles, resulting in striking chandelier formations. Additionally, Napier’s statuesque floor and wall lights feature a in-built swivel, allowing the user to control both the directionality and intensity of light within a space. The wall light is also IP54 rated for use in wet environments, offering a superior fully adjustable lighting experience in spaces such as bathrooms where high quality functional lighting is needed, yet often overlooked.

Napier is designed to endure beyond passing trends. Despite its delicate appearance, Napier is a robust luminaire with solid construction. All components are designed for disassembly, enabling repair and refurbishing of the product to extend its life span. Ultimately, Napier is designed for longevity.

Napier is available in pendant form in lengths of 40cm, 80cm and 120cm. Napier wall sconces are available with 40cm and 80cm crystal columns, and floor lamps stand tall with their 120cm monolithic crystal prisms.
