Description:
Denn is the new typology for the modern workplace.
Denn innovates aesthetically, functionally, and environmentally to be the first fully featured task chair to seamlessly support the new workplace. Thousands of hours of research and development have defined Denn’s innovation to provide a solution which is advantageous for users, businesses, and the planet.
The new workplace is a multi-space, multi-person, and multi-activity ecosystem. It has a strong residential aesthetic, health and wellbeing is essential and environmentally, it must offer genuine holistic solutions that are considered for the entire life cycle.
An intelligent chair for innovative people
Denn is a fully featured task chair designed for the new workplace. Denn’s intelligent and intuitive motion allows movement from one posture to the next without thought or restriction. It responds to your conscious and subconscious movements, bringing a new level of performance to the modern workspace.
The patent pending mechanism is the core element defining the unique motion of the chair which encourages movement for health, for the individual and for collaboration. The weight compensating rock and recline system automatically adjusts to a user’s weight and provides unparalleled comfort when sitting forward, upright or reclined.
The patent pending 4D arms allows for greater inwards rotation which better supports the multitude of collaborations and interactions which happen in the new workplace.
A calm, inspiring aesthetic
Denn is purposefully reduced to give an aesthetically calm, residential sensitivity while maintaining a unique character. The use of a transparent material for the back structure combined with a 3D knit defines a new, unique aesthetic which changes in different light and spaces. The structural elements are familiar, elegant forms which reduce the visual complexity often seen in ergonomic task chairs.
A market leading environmental solution
Denn’s environmental consideration will set the new benchmark in the industry.
From material selection to manufacturing, distribution and installation every element of Denn is environmentally considered.
Denn is predominantly made from ocean, post-consumer and industrial waste with a market leading 55.9%, or above of Denn’s total weight is made from recycled content and 94% of Denn is recyclable at the end of life.
The transparent back structure is made from 90% post-consumer recycled polycarbonate and uses no glass fibre enabling better recyclability. The back surface is made using SEAQUAL® YARN, a 100% post-consumer recycled polyester fabric which contains upcycled marine plastic litter and utilises 3D knitting which significantly reduces manufacturing waste. The main structural plastic elements are made from 100% post-consumer recycled nylon.
To be truly environmentally beneficial Denn is designed for longevity as well. It exceeds ANSI/BIFMA X5.1-2017, the global standards for strength, durability, and stability.
Denn’s main assemblies are made at Zenith's Shanghai factory with final assembly done in local markets. This global supply chain centralises component manufacturing and localises assembly to minimise shipping footprint and ensures the highest performing product at a very competitive price point.
Judge's comments:
The judges praised the calm and refreshing take on a product category that often gets caught up in details, and technical expression. Equally impressive is the rigor of the design and engineering process to achieve such a technical product with clever material usage.
