Description:

The KAHA is designed to be the most versatile Gravel Bike available. It combines the requirements for a comfortable, long-distance adventure/bike-packing utility bike with the precision needs of a lightweight, high-performance gravel racer.

In a market divided into two distinct genres (adventure and race), the design team's challenge was creating a gravel frame that maintains speed, weight, and agility for professional racing while catering to the practicalities of long-distance, multiday adventure riding.

The decision to use high-modulus carbon fibre as the foundation of the frame created a lightweight chassis. Using bladder moulding technology with Latex mandrels in controlled conditions allowed engineers to maximize the properties of the unidirectional carbon fibre, reducing excess fibres and resin to produce the lightest possible frame while meeting weight and stiffness KPIs and ISO safety standards.

While aerodynamics in gravel racing may not be a primary concern, every possible marginal gain was explored. The use of a fully integrated cabling system, first developed for the Chapter 2 TOA, became crucial in hiding cables from the wind, protecting them from mud and debris, and reducing drag and weight.

The MANA-GRVL bar was designed to work seamlessly with the frame’s internal routing system and is compatible with various GPS mounting systems and third-party clip-on aero bars. It is narrower than most gravel handlebars to maximize aerodynamics, but features heavily flared drops for familiar gravel bar ergonomics.

At a combined weight of 1.509kg for the frameset and MANA-GRVL bar, this svelte setup includes several features that make it a highly functional multiday bike-packing utility machine. These features include ample mounting points on the frame and forks for luggage, bottles, mudguards, and equipment and a concealed storage unit within the frame’s downtube for critical supplies such as inner tubes, multi-tools, and CO2 inflator cartridges.

The Limited Edition Sand (Onepū) colourway sets the KAHA apart from other mainstream manufacturers with its rugged persona and subtle detailing, unmistakably Chapter 2.

Since the KAHA’s launch, our customers have taken it on journeys around the globe with fully loaded luggage systems and competed in the highly regarded Unbound Gravel world championships in Emporia, Kansas, USA.
