Description:

‘Charging’ is a 3D animated film that explores the relationship between two robots in a retro-futuristic domestic setting. Through these two characters it humorously explores issues of conflict and technological obsolescence using purely visual storytelling with no recourse to dialogue. Great care is taken with the environment design, texturing and lighting to create a balance between the stylised and the photorealistic, with attention to the details of surfaces, set and prop design throughout in the blend of sixties/seventies retro style with futuristic technology. High production values are also realised in its virtual cinematography and rendering polish with the exploration of framing, camera angles and movement within the limits of the story settings, with the aim of servicing the visual narrative as effectively as possible. Modelling, texturing, rigging and animation were completed using the 3D software Blender.
