Over the course of three days, Vodafone NZ became One NZ.
The music brief for this launch was to compose and record a contemporary classical piece. References included Max Richter's re-composition of Vivaldi's The Four Seasons.
Humanity and a sense of new beginning had to be central to the piece.
The music was written then recorded live with a group of seasoned string players accompanied by a haunting, almost otherworldly vocal and some human percussion, where the human was in fact, the instrument.
While the piece would eventually be edited to a series of moving images of shorter durations, to ensure we met the essence of the brief a longer piece was conceived as one whole. It became known as "Te Kōanga". Spring.
We have presented the original Te Kōanga full length piece so it may be heard as it was originally conceived.
