Judge's comments:

A world class animated short film created for one of the worlds most loved brands. The judges applauded the amount of technical craft and execution. From the character animation to the lighting and rendering - the execution is right up there.

Description:

Our story follows the tumultuous journey of a Stepdad trying to integrate into an existing family network.

Animation allowed us the ability to use magic as a metaphorical barometer for these developing relationships. Blending 2D and 3D animation bound by 3D visual effects allowed for visual contrast between the worlds.

We used complex animation and muscle rigs to allow our characters to have a wide range of emotive bandwidth, from subtle brow movement through to more traditional large-scale antics.

Our world was developed with a skewed perspective, this level of stylisation allowed us to extenuate our characters features to further our performance opportunities. Elongated limbs, enlarged eyes, magnified textures added a cohesive personality to every element in the scene.
