Strange Nature Gin was created from opportunity. Its packaging was engineered to create desire.
It all begins as grapes destined to become wine - 0% Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc; a wine that has had the alcohol gently removed. As the wine went gangbusters in the market, the displaced alcohol distillate continued to stock pile without purpose.

Throwing it out would be sinful. Because this isn’t just pure alcohol, it’s the very spirit of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc naturally imbued with the wine’s unique flavour profile. And so a gin was created that tasted like no other before it; a gin with a wine twist. With cross category appeal the packaging was designed to attract drinkers of both. 

The challenge was to tell the product’s origin story through packaging. With the distillate being a by-product repurposed, we thought “waste not want not, right?” So we took this mantra through to the creation of a bottle so beautiful it simply couldn’t be thrown away; instead, becoming a showpiece in the home or reused in another way.
