Six Barrel Soda Co
Description:
Based in Wellington, Six Barrel Soda Co. have been shaking up the soda game with experimental batches and flavours since 2012. They are a small team of soda lovers who make wonderful drinks worth savouring. But the landscape of soda had changed, becoming more competitive with the rise of Kombucha and Kefir alternative sodas, Six Barrel saw the need to update their brand identity.
Our research led us back to the history of soda, going deep into the archives researching vintage soda labels and the history of soda fountains. We discovered the most iconic motif that resembles soda is a series of elevating circles and we injected this idea into the brand. Six dots are brought into every touch point replacing the “O” with a dot, creating a unique graphic pattern.
The six elevating dots delivers to the brand story and creates a system that allows the brand to live within the brand architecture. The system is the brand.
The result is a brand identity that lives on its own and as a system carries across packaging and communication giving Six Barrel an endless brand tool to help them shake up soda and shape their future.

Such a simple idea well executed, creating a clever system that speaks to the product.
