Description:

The Rapid Remix has been created as a self-promotional project to showcase the different self-adhesive label materials and embellishments we offer. We are known for our ‘out of the box’ thinking when it comes to innovative labels and our self-promotional projects so the Rapid Remix was no different. We wanted to present what we can do in a way that no one would ever imagine it could be done.

As a result of a long time in the making, the Rapid Remix is a marketing piece that is a real talking point and the unique cardboard record player was designed by one of, if not the best box designer in the country.

The labels are mounted on a faux 7inch printed cardboard vinyl and kept in their own sleeve with a description of each on the back. We went with the concept of side A being the hit with all the embellishments and side B being the watered down version with little to no embellishments. This was to showcase how different embellishments can enhance a label and lift its shelf presence. The labels were printed inhouse using either Offset, Flexo, Screen or Digital.

The top ten singles are stored in a drawer that slides out. Each can be placed on the record player to showcase them in action. The slider on the record player has been wired up to a small speaker. If you give the volume slider a quick squeeze at the top, you get a 30 second soundbite to add to the atmosphere. Topping it off and giving overall authenticity, each sleeve has a price tag label and the sleeve artwork incorporates the playlist for each side of the records.

Since the Rapid Remix singles dropped, they’ve been a hit amongst clients and designers. The label techniques showcased act as an educational label experience as well as extra inspiration for many of NZ’s talented designers. Which will be your number 1?
