Bowie set out to design a microneedling tool and supporting products from the ground up, including a serum bottle and a transparent keep bag. We led the product design process, researching superior forms and functions to outperform the brittle, flimsy competitors in market. The result was a rounded, reusable tool shaped by the brand’s curvaceous DNA, with materials and tones matched to the visual identity.

Bowie’s goal was longevity. Unlike disposable alternatives, the tool features a reusable head and durable construction, making it a lasting fixture in beauty bags and bathroom shelves. We worked closely with Chinese manufacturing partners to perfect the moulds, finishes, and functionality, ensuring high-quality results. The packaging was developed in tandem with our print partner, designed with tear-away features, refined finishes, and a cohesive unboxing experience.

Two ideas shaped the system: transformation and contrast. These themes informed every element of the brand set—tool, serum, bag, box, and printed material. Each piece was designed to reflect the brand’s playful curves and soft, approachable forms, from the ergonomic tool handle to the tactile packaging details.

The design choices were grounded in Bowie’s brand DNA, with a focus on materiality and finish. We worked directly with manufacturers to create a soft-touch feel, combining matte and gloss textures across packaging. The transparent keep bags are screen printed, and all print components were carefully refined.

The complete set brings Bowie’s colour palette to life in a vibrant, desirable kit that users are proud to display on their bathroom benchtops or carry in their beauty bags.

The full brand experience comes alive in the unboxing. Every touchpoint feels intentional and elevated. Positive customer feedback and strong user-generated content have driven the sale of thousands of kits since launch, proving the impact of a well-considered and beautifully executed product system.
