New State is redefining the social drinking experience - without the alcohol. A fashion-forward functional beverage brand, it offers mood-boosting alternatives for today’s social moments. With alcohol-free options becoming more mainstream, they saw an opportunity to go beyond abstinence and deliver a new kind of ‘buzz’ - an altered state. Something you’d be proud to bring to the table.
The launch includes two distinct ranges:
A Functional Spritz, infused with native Australian ingredients, adaptogens and nootropics - designed as a cocktail alternative with complex, refreshing flavours.
A Hopped Water, also with adaptogens, offering a calmer occasion - a satisfying substitute for beer or seltzer. Each flavour features a coveted New Zealand hop paired with crisp fruit notes.

New State speaks to transformation - of mood and mindset. These drinks may be alcohol-free, but they’re far from neutral. They’re made to shift your mood, elevate your experience, and create a new kind of social ritual.
For Spritz, they highlighted the ingredients - composing visuals to feel elevated and deliberate. For Hopped Water, we created a crystal hop image using light refraction and flatbed scanning. The process, referencing ’60s and ’70s psychedelia with a digital twist, introduced a layer of distortion and unpredictability that shaped the brand’s visual language.

Inspired by fashion and functional design, the brand feels both aspirational and grounded. Typography is clean and utilitarian, with an emphasis on product clarity.
Colour distinguishes the ranges: rich tones for the full-bodied Spritz, light and bright for Hopped Water.
The identity is confident, modern and designed for a style-conscious audience who care about what they consume - and how it looks.

This isn’t just about removing alcohol - it’s about replacing it with something better. We aimed to communicate mood, function and flavour in a way that feels fresh and relevant.
The use of flatbed scanning brought in an element of playful experimentation - reflecting the brand’s willingness to take creative risks. New State doesn’t follow the wellness wave - it sets a new tone for mindful drinking.
