Historic Newspapers

Description:
Old News. New Present.
Based in Bladnoch, Historic Newspapers holds the UK's largest private collection of original newspapers. Customers can purchase genuine papers from significant dates—such as a birthday or anniversary—or choose from a range of themed books covering sports teams, historical moments, and more. Few gifts are as unique or personal as a newspaper from the day someone was born, and this emotional connection became the foundation of our redesign.
The new strategy broadened the audience focus beyond sports and military history. The design integrated a print-on-demand system transforming the production of the business. Visually, the identity drew from classic newspaper design including grids, black letter typography, bold mastheads, and halftone patterns—created a more appealing brand for more audiences.
A flexible cover system was designed for 350+ themed books, supported by refreshed packaging, art direction, and eCommerce website. Packaging ranged from nostalgic newspaper rolls to archival gift boxes, while photography gave the products gravitas and cultural relevance.
A complete brand transformation—connected to history and built for the future.
