Description:

The Warrnambool Learning and Library Centre is located at the heart of the City Council campus. The contemporary development creates a thoughtful link between old and new, and explores the notion of how a modern public library can serve the local community.

The striking sculptural facade provided the inspiration for the wayfinding form. The undulating facade was reflected overtly on external wayfinding elements, and again in a more subdued manner on the interior signage.

Tactile maps with extruded forms help guide visitors around the campus, encouraging discovery and exploration.

The wayfinding material palette draws on the interior finishes, allowing the signage elements to feel at one with the space. The folded sign form was expressed and reinterpreted at each location to create a suite of signage elements that felt connected to each other as well as the spaces they support.
