The Telstra Creator Space is the new fabrication lab at the University of Melbourne. The brief was to create a bright and bold wayfinding system to activate the open lab and workshop spaces and help unfamiliar visitors orientate easily.

Our wayfinding system was developed to efficiently direct first users to their particular machine. The colourful super-graphic response is a contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional workshop aesthetic and mirrors the facility's experimental and highly creative programme. This bright graphic component also enhances the experience of the space and gives another layer of energy to the highly functional interior.

Users follow colour-coded floor graphics from the stair landing to their destination, with graphics extending vertically to identify workshop spaces.
