Barbara Cleveland is a female Australian artist collective working on Gadigal land. The collective took its name from a mythic feminist performance artist from the margins of Australian art history. The book’s publication coincided with Barbara Cleveland’s retrospective touring exhibition. The dust jackets are made from blue and red photographic gels, a material found in the collective’s output. They redact their corresponding coloured type on the cover, making a comment about how women can sometimes be unseen.
