The Thames Types are a contemporary typographic system inspired by the archived visual history of Thames, NZ. The collection features three custom type families, each embodying a distinct aspect of Thames’ layered past; Thames Sans, Thames Display and Thames Industrial.

While each typeface carries its own distinct origin story, they are connected by a shared typographic infrastructure — designed to work as a cohesive system or to stand confidently on their own. A key feature of the system is the inclusion of stylistic character variants, allowing alternate forms of selected letters to be toggled in context — bringing a human quality to text and allowing space for nuance and expression.

Technically, the typefaces offer comprehensive character sets, including full punctuation and support for Te Reo Māori, respecting Aotearoa’s linguistic landscape.
