Description:
Goodbye dirty old diesel, hello planet-friendly electric and hydrogen.
Auckland Transport, committed to reducing their footprint by 85%, embarked on a journey to revolutionize urban transport with a fleet of low emission vehicles.
Despite significant investments to create a sustainable network, many Aucklanders remained unaware, indifferent, and unable to see the change.
All they saw was the same old bus. And let’s be honest they aren’t typically seen as objects of beauty, and the groundbreaking technology powering them is hidden beneath metal. We made our buses see through.
By reimagining the bus exterior with a ‘transparent’ wrap, offering Aucklanders a glimpse into the sophisticated design and cutting-edge technology driving these vehicles.
We used specialised 3D animation technology to reimagine what an electric battery in a bus would look like.
Making a complex charging battery look simple. Simplifying the wires, cells, and gadgets we were able to show the tech in commuter friendly way.
By keeping true to the shape of the actually battery compartment at the back end of the bus, the demonstration allowed us to educate communities on what an electric future looks like. From the inside out.
This design innovation not only helped Auckland Transport reduce greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 11% annually, but it also transformed public perception.
The Mission Electric Bus Wrap served as an educational tool, showcasing the epic strides in sustainability.
The impact was profound. Mission Electric became Auckland Transport’s most successful campaign, dramatically enhancing positive brand perception. More importantly, it engaged Aucklanders, illustrating the vital importance of transitioning to electric transport.
Designing a sustainable future, one transparent bus at a time.
