Denzien Gin’s Wellington home is the ultimate meeting place of fault lines and creative minds, it’s no surprise their drinks are a proud reflection of the urban environment that inspired them.
Our Coast and Smoke & Embers are small batch gins designed to complement their core Te Aro Dry “Unashamedly Urban '' Gin. Our design used fractured typography and jarring vertical lines, referencing tectonic plates and the rugged geology of the capital, while still retaining an edgy, urban feel. Rich colour combinations help distinguish each variety.
Smoke and Embers is inspired by the qualities of whiskey, a smoky richness with a warming effect. Designed as a fireside sipper we used glowing orange and yellow with subtle hits of purple for that intense heat and took inspiration from the richness of Chipotle, Morita Chiles and Habanero that are used in the distillation process to give it a bit of a kick – wicked in a Negroni.
Our Coast speaks of New Zealand’s coastal identity, using native New Zealand Kelp and Marlborough sea salt the colour palette takes its inspiration from the rivers that run down to the Pacific, the calming turquoise of our oceans, to the vivid colours of a polished Pāua shell.
