Description:

The Challenge
A recent project from established Auckland developers Lamont & Co, The Domain Collection pays homage to its privileged location across two striking buildings within a thoughtful masterplan. With a vision to create a style of apartment living like no other, Jasmax’s brand team were engaged to create an identity for attracting only the most discerning buyers.

The Opportunity
Designed by Warren and Mahoney, the homes of Domain Collection are designed to elevate the lives of those who inhabit them. Expansive interiors take in the ever changing flow of life on the Auckland Domain, Mt Eden, or the landscaping between the Park and Garden building designed by O2 Landscapes.

Art of the Domain
Inspired by the emotion of Auckland Domain, The Domain Collection commissioned a series of works that captured the endless landscapes and intangible beauty of Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland's great space.

Karl Maughan is one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s most recognisable and well-collected artists. Maughan's work explores the cultural space of gardens, capturing their fantastical worlds through his exaggerated aesthetic. His use of colour and simplified compositions offer a contemporary take on one of paintings most traditional subjects. Domain, 2022 was commissioned especially for Domain Collection and repurposed across printed materials, signage, and the sales display suite.

David Straight's photographic practice explores the importance of the built environment and urban landscapes. Straight was commissioned to capture the most intimate moments within the Domain, Newmarket, and Parnell.

Tim D’s photography is the result of exploration, real-life encounters, and traditional dark room development which result in an authentic documentarian aesthetic. Tim D was commissioned by The Domain Collection to capture the residents of the Domain in their love of the space.

Solution
Working with the curated collection of artworks and photographs, a bespoke experience for buyers was developed across printed takeaway sales brochures, display suite books, and apartment plans. Typographic treatments within both printed and digital materials are refined and restrained, contributing to an aesthetic which is reflective of the development’s inherent value.

The temporary sales display suite established within the existing building at 81 Carlton Gore Road was designed as a gallery devoted to art of the Auckland Domain. Framed renders, photographs, and Karl Maughan’s painting are partnered with apartment material displays assembled as artworks. Kitchen and bathroom vignettes within the sales suite are situated as centrepieces to accompany the expansive views and curated sales tools.
