Description:
Pulsewidth translates a creative's struggle with technology into an internal odyssey of digital consciousness. It resists the promises of transhumanism and turns into an embodied battle of ideologies: Transhumanism vs Posthumanism. Our protagonist, an amnesiac artist, faces off against a crude disembodied AI instrument.
Mirroring the protagonist of the film, our creative process rejects computerised structures and centres the individual. Informed by research into AI, we designed a workflow where machines supplement, rather than supplant, human insight. We shelved the idea of a set hierarchy and hyper-technical roles in favour of lateral, symbiotic collaboration. Every collaborator interpreted the story and concept art into their work through their own lens.
