An almost perfect translation of both the brand and the building’s essence into the digital realm. This low-tech introduction of a new facility to its community demonstrates superb use of the browser canvas at all sizes, while never losing site of its target demographic or sense of self. A bold palette, custom typeface and inspiring photography seal the deal.
In a very close race, this entry told a great design story. While the promotional materials for community buildings can sometimes tend to the uninspired, this site had the polar opposite effect — it made us want to visit Te Oro. A seamless distillation of the Centre's brand, people and culture, and a triumph of modern web practices.
