Description:

SKEEHAN is an Australian design studio specialising in high-end furniture and designs for commercial environments. The purpose of this project was to build a website which repositions the evolving brand by expressing the diversity of their projects, encouraging collaboration and communicating the value of their offerings to the Australian-made market. Paramount to the brand’s success is their ability to effectively communicate to prospective clientele their vision to reconnect people to the material world around them. The developed approach emphasises innovation and partnerships, promotes engagement across brand touchpoints and facilitates collaboration between designer and client throughout various phases of product development. The concept explores the team’s unique and restrained approach to brand, research, positioning and materiality. The website has been transformed into a valuable tool for creatives to promote a transparent process that guides projects through a constant exchange of ideas.

The new website is an immersive, image-rich experience which showcases the detail of the projects, process and team. The website has been restructured to outline the changes in the business, provide insight into brand vision, values, projects and a variety of product offerings. The website spotlights various people within the team working from concept through to finished project, framing them as a strategic design team rather than simply furniture makers. A new graphic system, custom typography and branding guidelines have been applied to the brand’s online presence to reinforce the intelligence of SKEEHAN’s methods. Paired with new type, the art direction now features a dark, moody photographic approach which utilises natural light and stylised scenes, evidencing the products’ compatibility with high-end home magazines and showrooms.

To position the brand as a studio of choice, much work went into developing tools which enhance the experience of the end-user. In order to support business processes and sales in a seamless manner, each product page now offers detailed specifications and such downloadable content as 3D modelling files, CAD drawings, palette and swatch selectors, catalogues and brochures. This maximises usability for potential architects and interior designers, whilst offering more detailed information on vision, approach and projects for potential clients and partners.
