Love Better is a first-of-its-kind, government-backed campaign supporting young New Zealanders to navigate relationships with confidence.

Designed for a generation raised on social media, the platform avoids traditional public service clichés and instead feels like an authentic, approachable resource. Candid photography — including images sourced directly from young people’s own feeds — combines with warm, honest copy to create a tone that feels human, not institutional.

From interactive quizzes and self-help tools to a rich library of articles and videos, the experience is dynamic and constantly evolving. Every feature was shaped by research, youth workshops and extensive testing, ensuring the content feels relevant and accessible to a diverse audience.

In its first phase, the site has already exceeded engagement expectations, becoming a trusted source of information for thousands. By putting human-centred design and cultural authenticity at the heart of the project, Love Better sets a new benchmark for how government initiatives can show up — and make a real difference.
