The importance of art to society cannot be understated. Not only does art transcend cultural boundaries, it reflects the wellbeing of the community. This idea was central to the expectations of the New Zealand government who asked that ‘the NZSO continue to explore new and innovative ways of connecting with the people of New Zealand and supporting the cultural sector’.
Covid-19 accelerated the opportunity to transform the Symphony Orchestra's digital ecosystem, so they could make the transition from a credible national orchestra to a true entertainment brand, and start to shine on the digital stage.
