Spinaway is a New Zealand created, Sydney based startup who have created a revolutionary on-demand laundry services marketplace.

Spinaway connects people who have laundry to do with people who love to do laundry, via an easy-to-use app. Customers tick a big chore off the to-do list, while Spinners (people who do the washing) earn money from the comfort of home.

The idea for Spinaway stemmed from the founders’ frustration of having to transport piles of laundry to the laundromat every week. There was a time when Australians did their washing on the Hills Hoist in the backyard but the explosion in medium to high density living has significantly increased demand for outsourcing laundry, for consumers and businesses alike. Despite the plethora of reliable apps available for various services like babysitting and food delivery, laundry remains an underserved space.

Recognising the potential for laundry services to follow the footsteps of the thriving food delivery industry, the founder partnered with us to bring Spinaway to life. We knew that the success of this business would be dependant on a superior user experience and a super fun approachable brand that would stand out in a space where the digital experience is often an afterthought.

We designed a simple user interface via customer and supply side mobile apps akin to other two sided marketplace offerings like Uber or AirBnb. Our brand is personified by our mascot “Tumbles” who’s expressive flexibility gives us the ability to scatter moments of tongue-in-cheek delight throughout the user journey.

We designed the Spinaway brand to shine boldly across a wide variety of placements from our app experience & marketing site, to OOH advertising (and even a backend portal used by operational staff to orchestrate the business).

The result is a cohesive & striking brand presence which will help Spinaway become Australia’s most trusted laundry marketplace and help them achieve their goal of having a Spinner on every block.
