Description:

Type 1 diabetes is a chronic illness that affects 1 in 500 kiwi kids and can be a difficult and confronting conversation to have. Sugar Rush is here to make this conversation engaging, welcoming, and fun.

Sugar Rush empowers children with type 1 diabetes to reach their full potential by opening up a peer-to-peer conversation about chronic illness. By using gamified learning in a form of a board game, Sugar Rush help promote empowerment within our youth and provide them with the tools and support they need to feel empowered and help empower the people around them. Beyond this, Sugar Rush encourages openness with children on all ends of the health spectrum to create an environment that is comfortable and safe for all.

The intention of Sugar Rush is to help children with chronic illness feel understood by people around them. Although this game is not made exclusively for them, it is made for them to benefit from.

Sugar Rush – a tool where children are able to come together, connect, learn and grow.
