Description:

We created the identity and designed the website for an upcoming exhibition called “Counterparts”. The exhibition and conversation series presents the work of six prominent designers and explores the intersection of their personal and professional practices.

To launch the exhibition, we created a new visual identity that visually references the artists’ overlapping practices using typography, layout and interaction.

The logomark was created by overlapping the word “Counterparts” and rendering the intersecting shapes to create new letterforms, which change with input from the user, becoming more or less abstract as the user moves their cursor left and right.

The website layout is intentionally symmetrical, primarily divided into a 50/50 composition. When viewed on desktop, the content on each of the designer’s pages displays and scrolls naturally on the left-hand side and upside down on the right-hand side.

Audio interviews can be played for each artist whilst browsing the website.
